CheckoutSCROG (Screen of Greens) - training cannabis plants that can lead to fantastic yields from stunning specimens. The SCROG method allows the grower to properly manage the space and increase the productivity of the plant. Even from a small plantation, you can get many top quality buds.
Training technique allows you to form an even horizontal dome. By themselves, cannabis bushes grow more in height than in width. The scrog cultivation technique aims to raise the lower branches and lower the upper ones, stretching them in an equal distribution of the plane.
By placing the screen over the growing medium, cultivators can weave branches through the net as they grow and the plants mature. By redirecting individual branches and placing them along, the grower gets a flat horizontal crown.
The dome receives an even distribution of sunlight. Plants cultivated in this way have a horizontal crown, which allows all leaves to receive the same amount of light.
Because each bud receives a sufficient amount of light, this allows it to develop its full photosynthetic potential. This fact makes it possible to increase the size and number of resins.
Horizontal growing foliage will get enough air above and below the weight. Ventilation will only enhance this benefit and reduce the risk of fungal pathogens.
Most growers manage to reap more yields from a single plant that has been scrog trained than from many untrained plants. Also, you can practice this method on several plants at once, thus maximizing your yield and saving space.
Gardeners recommend do-it-yourself scrog training. It is important that the mesh is stretched at a height of 20 cm from the substrate. The tucking process should begin when the top of each plant begins to grow through the SCROG mesh. Wait for each tip to grow 5 cm above the screen. Then continue to put each individual shot under the screen and guide them through the next square.
Such a process will last the entire growing season. When the screen is full, you can change the light time 12 to 12 to induce flowering. At this stage, the bush continues to grow a little, but not so actively. New leaves, within 2–3 weeks, also need to be tucked under the SCROG mesh. This will fill the entire screen before the cannabis enters the true flowering phase and slows down their growth.
Avoid weaving plants too early. A cannabis plant in the early vegetative stage is growing very actively, and this will only add to the work of the grower. Training cannabis strains just seems complicated. The SCROG method can be mastered even with limited gardening experience.
When choosing a variety, the grower should take into account the climatic conditions and the growing environment. Ideal for this growing method, sativa varieties. They are more flexible and soft in nature. Sativa-dominant strains will weave their branches into the net for a long time. Of course, you can select to grow with scrog autoflowering. This will make your work easier and reduce your waiting time.
Producers often grow different varieties on the same plantation under the same plant. In this case, it is better to decide bushes of the same size so as not to provoke competition.
